In Sadri - a local tribal language 'Rour' means 'Your' and 'Kela' means 'Village'. Thus 'RourKela' means 'Your Village' and 'RourKela Trekkers Club' stands for 'Your Village Trekkers Club' Dear Reader, 

Thank you for your interest in, 'Rourkela Trekkers Club'! 

‘Rourkela Trekkers Club - RTC’ an initiative started and supported by Kapisa Adventures Pvt Ltd (New Delhi) aims to create awareness about adventure sports and homestay based rural & adventure tourism among the youth (esp from the rural section of the society) of Sundargarh District.  

Today, adventure is not just a hobby but it provides several opportunities from making a living to bringing glory to the state. Mountaineers and adventure professionals stand a good opportunity to establish their career as overseas mountain guides, outdoor & wilderness photographers, video bloggers etc. The opportunities can extend to starting an adventure camp, running a homestay based on rural and adventure tourism, competing in sport climbing at Olympics or joining ITBP, Fire, Rescue & NDRF/SDRF Departments by the Government and many more. 

Having said that if you have the passion for adventure and strong will power to challenge your own limits everyday you are welcome to Rourkela Trekkers Club. 

RTC organises 01 month 'Introduction to Mountaineering' course for free of cost at Mt CloveHitch near NIT Campus, Rourkela. The course aims to select the talented youth for further training in sport climbing at Tata Steel Adventure Foundation, Jamshedpur. The students and members are further guided and supported for advanced mountaineering courses, expeditions, sport climbing training and competitions all over India.
